Episode 103 - Encino Man and Track of the Moon Beast

Trevor would like to officially go on the record to disavow any responsibility for picking a Pauly Shore movie for this week's episode. That honors falls to Gabbie who decided to grace us all with Encino Man. Can a Pauly Shore movie actually prove to be entertaining? Or at least not painfully bad? You'll have to listen to find out.

While you are at it, you also get to find out what happens if you take a werewolf story but you replace the werewolf with a werelizard. Also, you replace the budget with some spare change you found at the bus station. The result, Track of the Moon Beast!

It's all about the pre-history this week!

Episode 102 - 12:01 and Yes Sir

The time loop has become a staple of science fiction. It seems like just about every TV show that involves magic or science fiction has a time loop episode sooner or later. But that wasn't always the case. The movie 12:01 is a made for TV movie based on the short story 12:01 PM which apparently was the first one to do the whole time loop thing. Does that make for a good movie? You'll have to listen to find out!

In other news, did you know that Trevor and Gabbie don't speak Turkish? That didn't stop them from watching the next movie on the bottom 100 movie, Emret komutanim: Sah mat (or Yes Sir) without subtitles (on account of how there weren't any). Will they be able to understand the movie anyway? And will they enjoy it?

Episode 101 - Surf Ninjas and The Wild World of Batwoman

Time and time again on this show we have learned about the risk of revisiting childhood favorites. Sometimes it turns out really well, but it seems like more often than not, all you end up with is yet another ruined childhood memory. This week our special guest, Sean, gets to learn that lesson with his cherished childhood favorite, Surf Ninjas

Then for our Bottom 100 film we tackle The Wild World of Batwoman. This character, that is not at all trying to cash in on the popularity of Batman... *cough* fights crime, surrounds herself with bikini babes and fights an incredibly strange assortment of villains. Villains that make dancing pills and whose ultimate goal is to steal an atomic hearing aid! It may be terrible, but it's definitely unforgettable.

Friday the 13th - The First One

What's this? A new episode on Friday? Well, today is Friday the 13th and we figured what better way to honor one of our favorite slasher franchises than a whole series of Friday the 13th specials running through the movies.

In this first Friday the 13th special, we are covering the first Friday the 13th film (oddly enough). So grab your machete and your hockey mask (even though no hockey masks appear in this one) and enjoy the episode!

Episode 100 - Stake Land and Birdemic 2

Amazingly enough, it's time for episode 100 of Failing Grade. This week, we thought we would each pick a movie that we've really been wanting to cover on the show.

In Gabbie's pick, Stake Land, America has been overrun by primitive, animal-like vampires. And if that weren't trouble enough for those struggling to survive in this grim future, there's also a crazy cult that have decided that the vampires are doing God's work. What does it take to survive in such a bleak hellscape?

Speaking of hellscapes, Trevor's pick is the sequel to James Nguyen's cinematic masterpiece, Birdemic. In Birdemic 2, Bill is a struggling movie producer looking to make his breakthrough film. Fortunately his buddy Rod is around to give him $1 million in financing. Unfortunately, there may be another birdemic headed there way. Will this be another amazing piece of movie history?

Trevor and Gabbie also take some time to discuss some highlights of the show including some of their favorite films they have seen during the course of doing the show.

Episode 99 - FanExpo 2013

It's a different format this week as Trevor and Gabbie recap their experiences at FanExpo 2013. For the most part its panels, discussions, workshops and neat merchandise, but a horror movie does manage to get covered in the process as well. This episode has something for everyone. Or every geek, at least.

Episode 98 - Critters 2 and The Creeping Terror

This week on Failing Grade we take another trip to Grover's Mills to revisit those charming little balls of death, the Crites, in Critters 2: The Main Course. Brad's family has all moved away (and out of the franchise) but conveniently Brad's in town to visit his grandmother and wouldn't you know it, the critters are back! Mayhem ensues.

After that, it's time for the most terrifying movie ever made about a killer carpet from outer space, The Creeping Terror. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to have a narrator forced to try and carry an entire movie, this is the film for you!

Episode 97 - City of the Dead and Who's Your Caddy?

We kick things off this week with 1960's City of the Dead. In this movie we learn, yet again, why you should never, ever trust Christopher Lee. He's Nan Barlowe's professor and when she's looking to really get some hands on experience for her term paper in witchcraft, he just happens to know the perfect place she should go. What could possibly go wrong?

The in the bottom 100 film, poor Jeffery Jones. It's bad enough that he kept getting one-upped by Ferris Bueller, but now he's stuck as the villain of Who's Your Caddy? Christopher "C-Note" Hawkins is anxious to join an exclusive golf club, but unfortunately they're all a bunch of racists. On the bright side, he has Uncle Phil in his corner!

Episode 96 - Critters and Sura

Gremlins sure was great, wasn't it? So great that it seems like everyone just couldn't wait to get their own Gremlin-knock off out in to the market. Some of these were pretty good, and some not so much. This week, we're taking a look at Critters. But which category does it fall in to? You'll have to listen to find out!

Then in our bottom 100 movie, we go back to watch what is probably the longest movie on the list, Sura. Sura just wants to help his village, but when a corrupt government official plots to steal their land, things get serious! Fortunately Sura is basically a superhero so the bad guys aren't going to have an easy time of things!

Join us we explore these films!

Episode 95 - Children of the Corn II and Girl in Gold Boots

Holy bananas! It's time for a new episode of Failing Grade!

On this week's show we continue the journey through the Children of the Corn franchise with the not-so-aptly named, Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice. After the grisly murders of the first movie are uncovered a neighboring town decides to take in the surviving children. The children decide to repay this kindness with murder!

For our bottom 100 movie, we have Girl in Gold Boots from 1968. Three strangers, Buzz, Michelle and Critter cross paths and decide to head to LA together so Michelle can try to make it as a dancer. It's like Showgirls but without the nudity!

Truly this week's show is one for the ages!
