Episode 138 - Failing Grade at the Movies 2

Trevor and Gabbie took in not one but two highly anticipated theatrical releases, X-Men Days of Future Past and Godzilla this past week so they figured that would make good podcast fodder.

Do these movies live up to the hype? How do they compare to past films in their respective franchises? Will anyone be disappointed? And if so, in which film? Join us to find out!

Episode 137 - Star Trek 4 and Pompeii

This week circumstances got in the way and while we were still able to cover two movies the presentation is a bit different than our norm.

First up, we have Star Trek 4. With the Earth's wracked by storms and power failures thanks to the arrival of a mysterious probe, Kirk and his crew realize that they only way they can hope to save the planet is by going back in time! And unfortunately for them, you need to go way faster than 88 MPH to get a Klingon Bird of Prey to do that.

And getting to the 1980s is just the start, once they get there they have to overcome all sorts of obstacles while having a wacky adventure! Note: Gabbie didn't much care for this movie but she also thinks that Star Trek Nemesis is "awesome" so keep that in mind.

Then Gabbie took in Pompeii. There's slaves and gladiators, love and war all that stuff. I believe there may also be some sort of volcano involved as well.

Episode 136 - The Running Man and Corpse Bride

Week three of our celebration kicks off in style with The Running Man. In a dystopian future, when Ben Richards (Arnold Schwarzenegger) tries to stop a massacre, he ends up being framed for said massacre, escapes from prison but is recaptured and ends up on the world's #1 rated game-show, The Running Man!

Then it's off to Tim Burton-land with the Corpse Bride. It's one of your standard boy meets girl, boy is to marry girl, boy accidentally marries a corpse instead situations. It's very Tim Burton.

So gather the family around the radiomajig and enjoy this week's episode!

Episode 135 - Romeo + Juliet and Invasion of the Body Snatchers

In the second week of our month long celebration to mark the end of our bottom 100 series, Trevor and Gabbie have selected very different movies. The challenge to the listener is to guess who picked which movie.

First up we have a film based on one of Shakespeare's most well-known plays, Romeo + Juliet. It's the same tale but set in modern times and with on screen graphics to help those in the audience who might have trouble following the story.

Then we have the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. When strange spores coat San Fransico and people suddenly start changing, it's up to Donald Sutherland, Jeff Goldblum and Leonard Nimoy to uncover the mystery and save the city before it's too late.

Who picked each movie? The answer may surprise you! Or maybe it won't. You'll have to listen to find out!

Episode 134 - Gremlins 2 and Heathers

We are kicking off our month-long post bottom 100 celebration in style this week with a couple of classic comedies from the late 80s/early 90s.

First up, Gizmo and friends are back in Gremlins 2. Billy and Gizmo are reunited and thanks to Gizmo's utter inability to follow instructions, there's soon another gremlin outbreak on hand. But this time, there's an ultra-modern building, a genetics lab and a musical number!

Then it's Heathers. Veronica works very hard at being cool even though she doesn't exactly like her friends. But when she meets JD things take a more murder-y turn. Will Veronica go along with JD's sinister plans? Or will she decide there's more to life than murder?

Episode 133 - The Bottom 100 Recap

On March 12th, 2012, we began our bottom 100 series. And now, over 2 years later, we have finally completed our journey. In this week's episode, Trevor and Gabbie take some time to reflect on what they've seen and what they have learned from the whole experience.

We also crown the winner of our final four showdown and give our thoughts on what movie is most deserving of the worst movie crown.

For various scheduling related reasons, episode 133 has been delayed.

Our apologies for the delay but on the upside that gives you another week to wonder if Baby Geniuses 2 is worse than Manos: Hands of Fate!

Episode 132 - Manos: The Hands of Fate and Titanic: The Legend Goes On

Our Final 4 continues this week as our number 4 seed takes on the number 1 seed to see who will make it into the final round.

First up is our number 4 seed, Manos: The Hands of Fate. Michael and his family are on their way to Valley Lodge. Unfortunately for them they are driving in the pre-GPS era and they end up lost. They do find a nice man named Torgo to put them up for the night, but the Master does not approve!

Our number 1 seed, Titanic: The Legend Goes Onwill have its work cut out for it, but it's not about to go down without a fight (or at least an iceberg). Have you ever thought to yourself, "I sure do love movies about Titanic but I really wish they were more like Cinderella? And what would really seal the deal would be some sort of rapping dog?" Well, then this is the movie for you!

Both these movies are pretty terrible, but only one will win. Which will it be? You will have to listen to the episode to find out!

Episode 131 - Daniel Der Zauberer vs Baby Geniuses 2

Over the past couple years we have gone through 96 different bottom 100 movies. We have had everything from Vanilla Ice in a romantic comedy to Merlin running his own store to whatever the hell Anus Magillicutty was and now it has all come down to the final 4.

This week we kick off our first final 4 match-up as our number 3 seed, Daniel: Der Zauberer, takes on our number 2 seed, Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2. Both these movies have a well established pedigree of being associated with other bottom 100 films so this is sure to be an epic battle.

But only one film can win. Which will it be? You'll have to listen to this week's episode to find out!
