Oh, is there anything in movies that gets dated more quickly than a computer? Not even the cellphone can match the antiquated factor from seeing an old computer in action. So anytime a movie makes the computer a core story element, you know it's going to seem dated.

Dated or no, Brainscan is a heck of a ride. So pull up a chair as Trevor and Gabbie disect this 1994 film. It's the ultimate in terror!

We decided to do things a bit differently and used the power of random to decide our movie watching fate this week. As a result, we wound up with The Cave

What will Trevor and Gabbie think? What sides will be taken in the The Descent vs. The Cave battle? What is awesome this week? Answers to all these questions and more can be found with the click of a button!

This week's we go back to the 80s with Tobe Hooper's Invaders from Mars (not to be confused with the 1953 original though given how similar the two films are, we wouldn't be surprised if you were confused).

Join Trevor and Gabbie as the reminisce about this childhood favorite.

Also, listen closely for special guest appearance by Gabbie's cat, Luna, as she scratches her scratching post and occasionally jumps onto the table with the microphone (she actually spent about half the recording sleeping beside the mic). I've edited most of the cat sounds out, but you'll still hear her from time to time.

It's another solo show this week, but Trevor also kicks off a trilogy of obscure Canadian sci-fi films with Recon 2020. See marines battling beetles, vampires, werewolves, zombies, cyborgs, three-headed monsters and more in this low-budget, hugely ambitious film from 2004.

This episode also marks the debut of a new feature on the show, Things that are Awesome.

Enjoy!

Episode 04 - Maximum Overdrive

Stephen King promised he was going to "scare the hell out of you" with this one, but I don't think you have to worry about losing sleep over this one. It may not be scary but it's got Emilio Estevez, plenty of gore and a soundtrack from AC/DC so there's something for everyone to enjoy!*

*In this case, everyone means fans of one or more of the following: Emilio Estevez, the 80s, cheese, gore, and AC/DC.

Episode 03 - Grizzly

It's another solo week so I'm afraid you'll just have to "bear" with us. Fortunately, we've got the original kung-fu panda to keep you entertained. And yes, we know pandas aren't actually bears.

Let's face it, there's a lot of poorly made horror films out there. And the horror comedy genre in particular seems to contain a lot of dreck. For the first 75 minutes, Scream Bloody Murder falls smack dab in the middle of the dreck category. But then something magical happens...

Episode 01 - Street Fighter

On their inaugaural episode, Gabbie and Trevor discuss the Van Damme best video game movie Raul Julia ever appeared in. Join them as they talk about the merits of this fun film (while heaping lots of scorn on Legend of Chun-Li in the process!)
